In China, several hundred bag digesters have been installed throughout the country by now. With a capacity of 6m³ to 15m³ these bag digesters are particularly designed for rural people and small farm owners. The bag digester is made of strong PVC under strict industrial standards regarding quality control – according to the manufacturer, all plants are 100% UV proofed. One bag digester including the pipes, stove, and fittings weighs about 40-50kg. Therefore these plants can be easily transported – even to remote areas. Activities With support from the GIZ 5 bag digesters have been bought from the manufacturer in Hong Kong. In collaboration with the DEEU (District Energy & Environment Unit) of the Alternative Energy Promotion Center, the bag digester has been installed in the VCD of Armala and Bharatpokhari in the Kaski district support from the GIZ 5 bag digesters have been imported from the manufacturer in Hong Kong.
